Using Google AdWords to Grow Your Online Business – Why Using Less Keywords is Better When Starting
When you are trying to get traffic to your site using Google AdWords one of the temptations that is easy to fall into is to try and get a lot of visitors to your site by using a massive amount of search terms. In this article I want to show you exactly why this is a really bad idea and why it can cost you a small fortune if you don’t watch what you are doing.
Reason #1 – You need to build the right foundation on a small scale first.
If you plan on making a lot of money in your niche market with paid traffic from Google you are going to have to build the right foundation.
That means you are going to have to start with a small amount of search terms and slowly build up to having a lot of them.
If you start small you can easily eliminate the risk of going broke! Sure you will get less visitor volume, but will be able to test your system out and make it more profitable.
Reason #2 – It forces you to build out your campaign in related groups.
If you are doing your AdWords the right way you will want to find one group of search terms that are all related to each other and use that group to get traffic to your site.
Once you are getting visitors and you are making a profit, you should then find another group of 5 to 10 search terms and do the exact same thing with that group.
If you do it this way you will maximize your opportunities and lower your risk.
Make sure you build up slowly as you will still be able to get a lot of traffic, it will just be more profitable once you start getting it.
